[edit] DebConf4
DebConf 4 will be hold in Porto Alegre, Brazil, from May 26th to June 2nd, right before FISL (Internacional Free Software Forum).
This is a internal work page, not intended for people outside from the organizing committee. "Regular" information at our website: http://www.debconf.org/debconf4/
General TODO List
- And conference documentation - this is a long term issue: we have to document our experience so people can reuse it in DebConf5, 6, 7...
Web Site TODO List
- Mobile phone networks
- A wiki page for people feedback
During the Conf
- Ask local people to monitor groups during Debconf
- Put a list on the web site and around the event with local DD and volunteers telephones
- Have a first aid kit at SESC (medicaments for headache, etc)
- During the subscription, confirm with the attendes, the name and the phone to contact in any emergency case.
<enrico> A useful thing that we had in Vis were facilitators: someone whose duty was to make things go smooth. An example of a facilitator role could be having a walk around from time to time and updating a big central whiteboard with all that is going on
[edit] DebConf4DiHardware
This page exists to track hardware that will be available for testing the D-iTest candidate between 27-30 May.
[edit] Hardware at DebConf4
- A number of i386 desktop machines, reasonably modern. The conference has 30 or 40, we can borrow a few.
- Jonas Smedegaard dr@jones.dk
I will bring a 1st generation Apple Ti Book (pretty common 15" PowerPC
laptop), Sharp Zaurus SL-C760 re-flashed into an SL-C860 (a
somewhat rare ARM-based handheld).
- Daniel Ruoso daniel@ruoso.com
It may be possible to take my iMac DV+ with me I would just need a usb
keyboard, as mine isn't working very well. This would be my second try
on running linux on it (I gave up last time because I couldn't setup
firewire video capture + video editing on it and other several desktop
problems...). Needs Yaboot
- Christian Perrier bubulle@kheops.frmug.org
i386 with Fire Wire for me if I don't forget my Docking Station.
- Jeff Bailey jbailey@raspberryginger.com
I need to check Power Adapter s and such, but I should be able to bring a
netwinder.
- Gustavo Franco
maybe a Sun ultra 1
- Colin Watson: PowerBookG4
[edit] Other testing
(Outside DebConf4 during this time period)

Digital Infrastructure for Deb Conf4
Planned things:
- WLAN and LAN
- Local Debian mirrors for all architectures often syncronized
- Printing Server
- Scheduling Server (to schedule BOFs, official talks will be prescheduled)
- Restaurant Server (inform or alter attendees' meal schedule)
We'll need <put the number here> APs for the WLAN and at least 10 16-port LAN switches and about the same number of hubs
We may have sponsored notebooks and/or desktops for the event. Anyway, be sure to bring your own notebook.
