- I do not see it as a (big) problem: the system is entirely voluntary and just a small share of attendees uses it, so (IMO) there is not social pressure. I personally find more problems on the day trip lists. Note old registration system had also the option to list flights (so registration is less alerted in case of missing attendees, if a flight were found delayed), but it was decided not to use it (e.g. adding opt-in public share), to make people more aware about privacy issue (so it is on wiki, and I think the reason was privacy and not genre). Possibly the page should have a notice (not just for women, but also for inexperienced travelers, but for sure with highlight on women and other groups with higher risk to be attacked/harassed). In any case the system is used also by women (and other people) that do not list themselves: if they find a known person taking a similar flight, they will contact privately about coordinating the travel. Obviously this do not work very well with first time attendees. --Cate (talk) 07:22, 16 July 2018 (UTC)
