[edit] Opening and deadlines
[edit] dc12
- Registration opened 2012-04-12.
- Sponsorship deadlines (food, accommodation, travel) 2012-05-15.
- No reconfirmation (but 4 "reconfirmation check mails").
- DebConf started on 2012-07-08.
cate/dc12
- Registration opened later, because of difficulty in finding final venue. So also no reconfirmation.
- Discussion to replace penta ongoing, so also delay (to find if farb can replace it).
- Very few no-shows anyway.
[edit] dc13
- Registration opened 2013-05-03.
- Sponsorship deadlines: 2013-05-15.
- Reconfirmations: 2014-06-19 to 2013-06-30.
- DebConf started on 2013-08-11.
cate/dc13
- Registration opened very late: discussions about prices (e.g. for rooms), about replacement of penta (failed), and the difficulty of having many sponsors (at the beginning) forced cancellation of DebCamp (later it was partially restored).
- Very very short sponsorship registration period and reconfirmation period.
- Sponsorship status was sent (for few people IIRC) after reconfirmation period ended, or just before, so we extended the period for affected people.
- Registration was planned to open in March.

[edit] DC7
- First year using pentabarf.
[edit] DC12
- Still penta, on skinner.
cate/dc12
- There was discussion to change the system. It was important to import the old penta database, so practically only frab was discussed.
- A BoF was held in DC12 to select a replacement.
[edit] DC13
- Still penta, on skinner.
cate/dc13
- After dc12 not much work was done to find a replacement [but for in few short moments]. At the beginning of 2013, because opening registration was more important, we decided to continue with penta.
- Maintaining the database was never more important: penta needed to be replaced.
[edit] DC14
- We have summit on nelson.
cate/dc14
- Also for DC14, the discussion to replace penta was nearly dead, but then in February/March vorlon decide to replace it, using summit (used by canonical/ubuntu) and in two weeks we had the new system. A lot more work needed doing, but it was good enough to open registration.
[edit] DC15
- Summit
cate/dc15
- We continued with summit, just decided that it is too complex (and unclean) to maintain the debconf side separately, so we started to patch summit for our uses (e.g. having "speakers"). The system needed much improvement.
