DebConf12/Visas

DebConf attendee needs a valid passport to enter in Nicaragua and few further requirements according the citizenship of attendee (see the tables below). If you need a visa, consider to apply for it as soon as possible.

The visa desk (visa@debconf.org) will help you if you need a confirmation letter from DebConf (to apply for the visa) or to answer further questions.

Nationals from these countries don't need to ask for a visa to enter Nicaragua, only:

  • a valid passport with an expiration date no less than six month
  • a return ticket and,
  • 10 USD (or the tourist fee), when entering the country.

Requirements for nationals from these countries:

  • Go to the nearest embassy or consulate and fill a visa application.
  • Two photos, passport size.
  • Copy of valid passport with an expiration date no less than six months.
  • Copy of all of the visas in the passport.
  • Application letter to the Ambassador or Consul, specifying the purpose of the travel, the date of departure and arrival and adress/telephone number in Nicaragua.
  • Interview with consular officer.
  • $30 US dollar fee for issuing the visa.

Requirements for nationals from these countries:

  • Go to the nearest embassy or consulate and fill a visa application.
  • Two photos, passport size.
  • Copy of valid passport with an expiration date no less than six months.
  • Copy of ID card (front and reverse).
  • An affidavit (sworn statement of fact witnessed as to the authenticity by a notary public) stating that the applicant will abandon the country at the date specified in the application letter.
  • Application letter to the Ambassador or Consul, specifying the purpose of the travel, the date of departure and arrival and adress/telephone number in Nicaragua.
  • Birth certificate (original and translated to Spanish).
  • Health certificate (original and translated to Spanish).
  • Police certificate (criminal record - original and translated to Spanish).
  • $30 US dollar fee for issuing the visa.
