My day-job includes running about a thousand far-flung managed Linux desktops and a few remote-login servers, and it turns out having a gigabit package server doesn't do you much good when all of your machines try to install Mathematica at the same time.

I have some hopefully-interesting plans involving a new APT socket:// method, a persistent daemon, adding BEP-26 support to libtorrent-rasterbar and figuring out some minimal extensions to Debian repository indexes..
