[edit] Aula Magna (Room 1)

Switch on the PHONIC Power Conditioner

Turn on the amplifier at the bottom (blue light) and turn up the volume for both channels. The plastic cover of the left knob is broken, so in order to level evenly with the other channel lift it up and check that it is in zero position. Then adjust the levels.

[edit] Mixer

The mixer is turned ON by switching on the Power Conditioner, there is no extra ON button.

Turn up the red faders (MIX) up to the top. The MAIN OUT Mix goes to the room.

Channel 5 is the wireless mic (labeled MIC 1) which is in the middle of the room for the audience. Channel 6 is the headset (labled HEADSET).

There is a stagebox in the floor at the middle of the stage, the inputs are numbered from 1 to 16. Channels 1 to 4 are patched ready for use, the numbers correspond on the mixer.

One fixed cable mic will probably be used for the tables next to the speaker, use Channel 1 for convenience.

The white channel faders in each channel control the individual levels for each microphone. The output level for all microphones together are controlled by the red faders on the right. Ideally they should be turned up all the way. If you need to lower the volume better use the individual channel faders.

SUB Masters control the camera/streaming output.
MAIN Masters control the room.

If you need lower input for the camera/streaming fade down the SUBS.

[edit] EQ

Each microphone channel should have the 100Hz HiPass button activated to avoid rumbling noises.

[edit] Leveling

  1. Make sure in the Main Section on the right PFL/AFL is activated.
  2. Turn up PHONES. Use headphones to level.
  3. Make sure you won't be sending the signal into the MAIN MIX: the button MIX in the channel you want to level should not be pressed.
  4. Activate SOLO in the channel you want to level (red light next to the PFL/AFL button lights up).
  5. Use the SENS knob on top of the channel to level so the peak meter doesn't exceed the green area, when speaking loudly into the mic.
  6. Send the channel back to the MAIN (Press MIX in the channel).

If the mics are leveled already don't move SENS knobs!! Only use the white channel faders.

Don't turn on Phantom Power, it's not needed for any of the microphones.

[edit] Roberto Teran (Room 2)

All mics and channels are labeled. Turn up the volume and you're ready to go. The LINE OUT goes to the camera, leveling has to be made there. Channel 4 can be used for the ghettoblaster or for the spare cable mic.

The rechargable batteries have to be changed frequently, since they lose power very spontaneously when they are at their limit. Keep the chargers busy.
