[edit] Typhoon contingencies

Debconf18 is held at the height of typhoon season in Typhoon Alley: Taiwan. So we've attempted to design the entire conference from start to finish to be able to, legally and physically, operate on schedule even if a Typhoon Emergency is declared.

[edit] What to do with open times on the schedule?

Specifically, we have scheduled many open time slots, to give us more places to reschedule any cancelled talks. Treat these as good times to meet on-site with collaborators and new friends, take a nap, or otherwise leave open for possible rescheduled talks.

[edit] What if there is a typhoon?

Explaining intensities: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typhoon#Intensity_classifications

If there is a typhoon, the venue will not be opened. The staff to open the building will not come to work.
