Logo Ideas for DebConf13 in Vaumarcus

The Logos proposal ?

It should reflect our vision.

Requirements

These are the graphic design elements needed for DebConf13 according to Kevin <mid:20120516150455.GB3502@portofbelfast>:

• a DFSG-free licence
• a logo that includes the Debian swirl, works in small and large scale and that is recognisable as the logo of the DebConf in Vaumarcus, Switzerland (like the DebConf10 logo which is easily recognised as the New York Debconf logo)
• typeface and layout grids / suggestions for communication material such as cover letters, documentation sheets, website, sponsor banners (similar to the DebConf12 ones), stickers, T-Shirts, bags
  • This would ideally include 3 header hierarchies (h1,h2,h3), standard text for paragraphs, separator and quotation elements
• a colour chart of what colours to use where (backgrounds, headers, logo, boxes, ...)

As a first step and as basis for something we can agree on, an idea of the logo and the typeface should be enough.

	Vectorized version of copyrighted [1], the main idea is to have "Creux-du-Van" (a quite iconic mountain nearby Le Camp) and the lake.	+1

Artwork Logos Switzerland Flag

	+1 (reminds me of many Bauhaus architecture buildings in Switzerland. But the Swiss cross should definitely be fixed to have the correct proportions)

+1 for the ascii art idea, but it should be a real logo (in graphics not in ascii), could be combined with the milka cow

Idea - Fée verte

Vaumarcus is in the district of Boudry next to the district of Val-de-Travers, legendary home of la fée verte.
